The Upside of Constant Change

The Upside of Constant Change by Keri Kettle

It was raining yesterday.  Today I was sweating as the temperature hit the 80’s in my un-air-conditioned house.  The weather changes every few days where I live and I love it.

I grew up in a place where Winter started a bit before Halloween, settled in and was still a dirty, slushy mess when Easter rolled around.  I spent my Summers with my family in Arizona, where the temperature stayed above 100 for weeks and weeks.  I have come to appreciate living in a place where a few days of rain quickly shifts into a a few days of heat and then back to cool, foggy days.  Around here, people say, “if you don’t like the weather, just wait a few days”.

I believe in the power of change.  I believe that you get to choose your own adventure.

You don’t like where you live?  Move.  You aren’t a tree.

You don’t like your job?  Find another one.  You have skills.

We fear change.  We fight change.  We do everything in our power to hold on to what we have.

What if someone told you that nothing in your life would change for the next ten years?  Scary thought, isn’t it?

I’m not talking about discarding people you love.  I’m not suggesting you abandon pets or children.

But you can make choices about how you spend your days.  What can you choose today?  What can you shift to bring more pleasure, more connection, more luscious love into your life?

Please share your thoughts.
